Carmen Parsons is a registered speech-language pathologist with decades of experience. Her training includes a B. Sc. In Communicative Disorders (1984), and
M. Sc. in Audiology & Speech Sciences (1991). She has also completed training in the Hanen, PROMPT, PECS and Lidcombe programs. Carmen has worked as an SLP in school boards, health units, and private practice. Her experience includes direct therapy with children, consultation with teachers and parents, and multidisciplinary team-work to support language, learning, and literacy programs for kids. She has also volunteered with various NGO's to provided paediatric Speech-Language training and support abroad (Bangladesh, Kenya, Ghana, Peru and Cambodia). Carmen has particular interest and experience in the areas of: pre-school and school-aged language, reading & literacy (including phonological awareness), phonology & speech delays, and learning disabilities. |
